    My chicken died... now what?

    When I went out to lock up my chicken coop tonight one of my 8 month old girls, Sweetie Pie, was dead on the ground in the run. There was nothing to indicate what happened, it looked as if she just fell down face first and died. I had not noticed any unusual behavior in the last few days...

    Silkie hen or roo?

    So I had 7 chickens, mixed breeds, and one of my barred rocks turned out to be a rooster. When he started crowing we removed him from the flock. About two weeks later one of my two white silkies started crowing. So we found him a new home. We live in the suburbs so I don't want a rooster...
