Hello BYC! I am new here and new to owning chickens. I have 7 chickens in my backyard right now, and I know one of them is a rooster. this is a picture of a possible Ameraucana rooster. I don't want it to be a rooster, but I am afraid the tail feathers may indicate it as such. Can anyone confirm? There is little to no comb, which is how I identified my other rooster, but I think I read that Ameraucanas don't have large combs. Also, is this an Ameraucana? I am not totally sure, again new. :)

The barred one behind the one in question is the rooster :)

ETA: No it is not an Ameraucana. It is an Easter Egger (or EE for short). Ameraucanas are very rare, and only come in a few recognized colours. Black, Blue, Blue Wheaten, Brown Red, Buff, Silver, Wheaten and White.

It is adorable either way, and she should give you colourful eggs!

Thank you both so much! Her name is Muffin and I was hoping to keep her because she is kind of attached to me. :) And yes, the barred rock in the second picture is my one confirmed rooster.

A very pretty EE pullet.
