The previous poster has some good suggestions, I have used the vinegar treatment myself.

If no wound is visible, I would say he sprained his leg. Keep him in a small cage to restrict his movement for a few days to one week.

For sure they are not barred rocks. Roos or pullets, I am way out of practice, but just throwing a guess out there, one roo ---one pullet. No idea as to what breed they actually are, but deffinitely not barred rock.
