Location updated! (SW Michigan)
I’ll go put a couple of hygrometers out this week and see how different it is inside vs out. If there’s a difference we will go ahead and add more vents to the shed
Lots of good questions!
they are on a 21% feed from our local mill, I never end up with bags older than 10 ish days as I buy one at a time. We have a couple young pullets not yet laying, hence the higher protein for now (thought I would just leave them on higher protein until spring). They also...
We made the switch to the pvc elbow style waste free feeders a few weeks ago. we have 4 elbows, started with all 3” pvc, but changed one out for a 4” for our rooster. We have 14 chickens.
a couple hens and my rooster seem to be losing weight. The feeders are always full, located in the run and...
We use Sheets, the google version of excel. They have an app and you can share the document so more than one person has access and can update in real time. Right now we just keep track of total eggs, and if a certain hen is laying (she’s 3 but seems to be an every day layer surprisingly).

Ventilation was my first thought but I dismissed it as it SEEMS to be adequate - do...

What is a fairly...
Wanting to put a camera in our coop just to see who is laying what. We do not have internet at our house at this time, and when we did, even with an extender we couldn’t get a WiFi signal to the coop as there’s a large metal barn between coop and house.
What are my options as far as cameras...
first time incubating eggs, and doing a batch of 14 quail eggs right now. I’m a little stumped on the adding water instructions. the directions say to “fill first half of the water pot marked A” and then later says “pay much attention when filling water pot A, need to fill slowly and gently to...
Hi all! Been lurking for about 6 months but just joined today!
We recently bought a farmhouse and some land and my first order of business was chickens! We have lived here for 4 weeks and had chickens for 2, clearly they were a priority. We have 10 chickens total currently including a rooster...
