    At what age do you process your Jersey Roosters? Mine are nearing 10 months, is the meat too 'old'? (I read that the meat gets stringy and gamey with age, but nothing specifically for slow growers.)

    I say go for it! No clue what it will look like, I've only ever had mutts and never raised chicks. Could end up an interesting mutt with fuzzy legs, or something gorgeious! Never know until you try...

    I spray mine down with the hose every few hours. They dig a nice cool patch in the wet dirt to lay in for awhile too.

    No advice, in fact, I'd like some ideas for keeping our pet goat off the back deck! (she's VERY resourceful at knocking or jumping gates! ... And has a strange aversion to our outdoor path lights...) Good Luck!

    my chickens love a good bath in the kitchen sink! They fuss for a bit, but as soon as I start pouring the water over their backs they hush right up! (I use dish soap or dog shampoo or whatever isn't so far away that I won't go fetch it. Fill the sink with warm soapy water. Pop in the chicken...
