I'm not sure if there is a hole. If there is it's very small. I'll look better tonight when I do her treatment. I appreciate everyone's advice. I've never had to deal with bumblefoot before and it's kinda scary. I hoping I caught it early and it will heal fast
The scab actually came off this morning after her first soak. In your experience does the infection come out on it's own or do I have to try pushing it out. I would rather not have to do that because I'm sure its uncomfortable. She does have a limp but she can walk on it
I know this is an older post but I need help. I have a duck with bumblefoot and I'm scared to death of having to try and cut it out myself. I've seen videos but doesnt look pleasant for the duck. So with this method you use you don't have to do any cutting? Just continue to soak and spray with...
Is it possible they are white khaki Campbell's? All i know is my last duck which is my profile pic wad obviously not a pekin either. As I said it doesn't matter cause they are my babies and I love them but it would be nice to know what I have.
I have an unrelated question. I posted this picture on another social media site and everyone is saying my duck doesn't stand like a pekins. It was bought at a tractor supply store and is suppose to be a pekins but now I'm not sure.. I have two that stand identical. I might also add they are...
They are outside..have been since 1 week old. I used a heat lamp at night but now that are half feathered and huge I find they don't want it anymore but it doesn't stop me from worrying. Are they too cold or too hot? But I guess they are fine because I haven't had the heat on now for 3 nights
These pics were taken Aug 9th. So they are bigger now. I don't know why I'm having a hard time with this heat thing. I owned a couple ducks a few years ago and don't remember having this issue. So tonight I put a 40 watt bulb in there and then checked on them and they seemed to be panting a bit...
They don't seem to lay under it. They are only locked in their coop at night. During the day they swim in our pond most of the day. I have noticed some panting. I just don't want them to get too hot. They are pretty big already and they do sleep together which I'm sure helps with body heat
I live in Michigan and I have 2 4 week old pekins. They have been outside in their coop since they were a week old. Keeping in mind our temps are 70s and 80s in the day and 50s and 60s at night, should I still be using a heat lamp at night. They are starting to get their feathers but not all in yet.
I have been baiting the cage with a duck egg since that is what they are coming in for and I was also putting a piece of bread with jelly on it and I've now caught 3 coons and no possums
