    Should I assist?

I know about assisting them and when it's too early, I just have never candled one and seen the blood through the egg. It has not pipped but looks to be internally pipping. Like I mentioned in the post, I am just going to leave it for a few hours, but I'm worried because of the blood, not...

    Should I assist?

Yesterday was day 21 for my Silkie and Polish eggs. Most of all that made it to lockdown hatched. Today is day 22 and I candled the remaining eggs that showed no progress, movement or pipping. Two had no movement and look like they did not make it. The other one that didn't hatch looks to be...

What the heck is wrong with these goslings?!!

I'm thinking about it for sure. I definitely feel that the way their animals are treated is unacceptable. The goslings are doing a lot better now. We have been trying to socialize with them and they have almost all of their down/fuzz back.

What the heck is wrong with these goslings?!!

They were incubator babies. This lady apparently mixes all of her hatchlings (goslings, chicks, poults, and keets) all in one small tiny muddy box, all different ages. I don't think they even saw the light of day. ☹ They are improving some today and I can see some light down/fuzz coming back...

What the heck is wrong with these goslings?!!

They were outside in a thick muddy pen with other birds with 2 heat lamps. I have never seen anyone raise goslings like that and I have definitely never seen any have this problem. I'm crossing my fingers that with a clean brooder, food and water, as well as vitamins, they will recover soon...

What the heck is wrong with these goslings?!!

Please note these are NOT from our beautiful stock of Toulouse. ***FIRST 2 PICKS ARE THE GOSLINGS IN QUESTION, LAST PICK IS FROM MY FLOCK*** Someone on a local Facebook farm group said they had Toulouse goslings for sale and we are always looking to expand our flock with new bloodlines, so of...

    Showgirl or Showboy?

The feathers on the back of the head. They kind of stick out more than they would on a female.

    Showgirl or Showboy?

    Agreed, thanks for the response.

    Showgirl or Showboy?

Haven't been on BYC in a while but needed some opinions. I'm thinking this is a cockerel/roo due to the streamers on the head, but would like to hear what y'all think. He(or she) is around 5 months old.

Getting off BYC for a while. Would delete my account if I could. I thought BYC would be different. I'm thankful for the friends I've made on here, but frankly I'm tired of all of the know-it-alls and I-know-EvErYtHing members. Its also frustrating to see new members getting into chickens and...

Ended 2021 Chicken Gift-Ideas Giveaway - Over $500 In Gifts Up To $35 Each!

Once again, I didn't claim in my original post that it worked as a wormer. I was stating that some people have claimed it works. I have only used it for my chickens in their food a handful of times and use a different worming method 2 times a year. I was just claiming it personally works for...

Actually the dust supposedly smothers the lice and mites like when chickens dust bathe.

I've had good luck with it for lice and mites personally, not saying it works for everyone. I also didn't claim it worked for worming chickens, I've only put it in their food a handful of times. I use a different worming method. I was just stating that some people say it works, but I didn't...

    BYC's 2021 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along!

October 13th Candling Update (set on 10th): All 22 of the original eggs set in my NR360 are showing signs of development! Here are some pictures of a few (I didn't want to bore y'all with 22 individual pictures, but they all are at the same developing level. The darker ones are harder to see...

Ended 2021 Chicken Gift-Ideas Giveaway - Over $500 In Gifts Up To $35 Each!

**Edited to add because I guess what I originally posted about DE wasn't clear: I have personally used it as a dust for my chickens to prevent and help with lice and mites while I also spray the coop with horse and stable permethrin spray. It has PERSONALLY worked for us, and I've heard of lots...
