Thanks for the advice. I do have a skirt outside for predators but didn't realize those girls would find a way around that. You're right! Anything can get in those spots!

The guinea hen went into the coop this morning and has been very quiet all day. She just sat in the window. Not sure if she is sad or just subdued. Is a quiet guinea hen a good thing?

My neighbor had her chickens free range and all were taken by a fox and one by a hawk. We're trying the fenced in & covered area for them during the day and coop at night. We will see how that works.
Yesterday someone told me that she thought she bought laying chicks but they got so fat they couldn't move and she only got 1 egg so she figured that they were meat birds. My birds are about 8 weeks old. How can you tell the difference? Is there a difference? I'm confused.
