Where in South Texas are you located? I live in Boerne, Tx and if you're near by I'd be willing to buy the rooster or trade a couple of my RSL hens for him.
Do you like farm fresh eggs? I'm selling mature layer hens that are laying daily. I have one Light Brahma, a pair of Rhode Island Reds and another pair of Barred Rocks. My wife and I are moving out of town and I decided to just start my flock over once we get settled in.

I can't tell if it's domestic or not. It does not fly well and I'm almost positive it's a juvenile. I live in the Rio Grande Valley so, it could be a common pauraque. I appreciate all yalls help!
I need help to ID this bird. I found him/her injured on our loading dock at work. When I first saw it I thought it was a female bob-white quail but, after a closer look I'm just plain stumped as to what species or breed this bird may be. I still think it's a game bird of some sorts. It's a...
My LB hen looks sick. Her comb has lost a lot of it's mass and has gone from bright red to a dark purple. She's lethargic and isn't eating as well as she usually does. I'd really appreciate any input from ya'll.

Found these in the corner of the yard. The one I'm holding is probably the only one that is still good but, wow! I'm excited about this. I've been waiting for this for a long, long time!!!
I got them through a hatchery (Ideal Poultry out of Cameron, Tx). I live in South Texas and a couple of weeks ago we has some really cold weather for around here. So that may be a factor in all this. I'm not positive they haven't layed while free ranging but I have seen any signs of that. I...
My two light Brahma hens are almost 9 months old and they have not started laying. I know the breed develops rather slowly but, this is pretty darn slow. They've been on layer pellets for at least 4 1/2 months. Why have they not started to lay? Thanks!!
I'm wondering if only Roosters have that greenish tinge in their black feathers? I'm pretty sure that is the case because, none of my hens have ever had that trait. I just need confirmation from some of ya'll more experienced Chicken Lovers. Thanks for ya'lls help.
