This morning I woke up to the hen sitting on them having eaten 2 of them already... I’m familiar with hand raising chicks it was the broodies I wasn’t familiar with. It looks like I’ll be hand raising them since she thinks they are nice snacks and everyone else has decided they no longer care...
So my last couple of months I’ve been arguing with a few of my hens about them wanting to hatch more chicks (I still have 23 from my last hatch). Anyways, my dog passed away and I couldn’t be bothered to argue with them about collecting eggs. Sure enough 4 of them sat on eggs. One (pearl)...
Would it be possible to get pictures of the egg being candled on the big end with the air cell. I find it much easier to see veining even in darker eggs.

If you could candle from the air cell you might be able to see something. You can repost pictures and I can give it a shot but you won’t see anything candling from the bottom at the stage. My dark eggs keep me guessing till day 7-14 sometimes!
It sounds like yolk hasn’t been fully absorbed. Depending on severity I’ve had some absorb it after hatch, some where the rest just fell off and chick was fine and some where chick didn’t make it (These were more severe cases with bleeding). If it’s just a little I wouldn’t worry about it. If...
