    Thank you. It's currently 28'x32'. I'm planning to add another 10-15 chicks in the spring and will expand the size of the run to 38'x32'.

    Appreciate the feedback. These are my first chicks/chickens and I couldn't just start with 4 or 5, I had to order 24 and received 3 extra so have 27. Getting a headstart on chicken math. lol

    I had a couple of branches in their brooder that they roosted on. These are significantly higher at roughly 40" off the ground.

    Moved 27 almost 5 week old chicks into the new coop yesterday. Have to add lower temporary roosts and add another window. Nesting boxes will get added in about 6 weeks. New feeder being hung tomorrow inside. Plan to start letting them out into the run next week, as soon as all the hardware cloth...

    All 27 are doing great. I'm actually stunned at how much they've grown in 2 weeks. Have to finalize the outdoor coop in the next couple of days so I can move them out to their 8x12 Hen house. If I don't get it done quickly I'll have to split them up into a couple of other wire dog crates so...

    Is this feeder big enough?

    I like your calculation of 4 birds per port. My concern is I have 27 chicks that are 10 days old, and 12-13 birds are feeding at a time. (The feeder has 28 ports). Should I go to 12 ports, or would 8 be enough in your experience? This is new to me, and I don't want any of them not getting enough...

    Received our chicks today. Ordered 24 and received 27. So far, so good. Hopefully they do well overnight.

    We just received our chicks today from Cackle Hatchery. Ordered 24 and they brought 3 more friends for a total of 27.
