    Ugh! Stupid young rooster...

What I did with my roo anytime he tried to size me up is I would pick him up and tuck him under my arm and hold his legs so he can`t. move Then I would just take him for a walk for about 5-10 min. It is a show of dominance. It puts him in a position where he can`t fight back

Mikedero you can try the feed store in watertown. They have chicks and maybe can put you in touch with someone who has fertile eggs locally.

It is very unlikely that you could catch a coyote in a Hav-a-hart trap. They are very smart and cautous. It knew your dog was not around otherwise it would not have attemped to grab your chickens. Since you have a dog, snares and leghold traps are out of the question.

Keep your lawn short. This will help with the weeds. The chickens will provide the fertalizer.

I don`t think you will need the reptile heating coil. The hay bails should work good. Chickens give off alot of heat. The most important thing is ventalation but you do not want your girls exsposed to a draft.Moisture in the air will condence on a warm chicken body. Also I use 2x4 for roost so...

I went to the store this morning to buy some melons for the girls. Since they will be shut in all day Sunday they will need something to keep them occupied. People are going crazy! you would think it was the end of the world. It took me 1 hour to make a 15 minute trip. I was suppose to go to JFK...

    Questions about winter care

Just as long as you have good ventalation you are good. Just make sure they are not exposed to a direct draft. I use 2x4 for a roost so they can sit on thier feet to keep them warm. On my rooster I put vasaline on his comb. The girls tuck thier heads under thier wings but I still give them a...

BiB, I like Bethel`s DR MIKES better than Newtowns Ferris Creamery. The Ice cream is alot richer. As long as you don`t get the owner to serve you. You will get a pretty good oversized ice cream.

    Witnessed A Vandalism CLOSE-UP (UPDATE Post# 116)

I would make sure that they are actually being charged. Being that you live in a small town and everybody know everybody, these little monsters might be related to or know somebody in the cop shop. The police telling you that they are being charged with all kind of stuff may be a way to get you...
