This is gut wrenching. I have cameras set up around my coop. I would suggest Arlo. They're really easy to use and they're wireless. I hope you filed a report to the police.
I really don't have the set up for that outside. I'd have to switch the entire flock over to different feed, change the water height amongst other modifications. Just doesn't seem feasible at the moment. I'm going to put a cover of some kind over the other brooder so the mom doesn't get in.
She's in the basement because she was broody in the coop and I was worried for the chicks' well being when they hatched. We have 40 other chickens in the coop and I didn't want to run the risk of injury or death with the unhatched eggs or chicks when they hatched. She's in the basement until the...

Hi!
I am sure this has been asking a bunch of times but I am attempting to hatch about 50 eggs right now. Do I need to vaccinate them and if I do, how do I go about getting medication?
Thank you!
Ok, this is my first time experiencing broody hens hatching chicks.
I have a concern and need advice:
We are in the dead of winter here in Connecticut and I'm worried that if I allow the hens to hatch out chicks, they wont survive due to the cold temps in the coop. Even if the hen gets off the...
I have a 7 gallon galvanized water fount and the chickens perch on it and poop on it and in their water. I love the fount but I need something to put on top of it so they can't perch and poop all over it. Anyone have this problem and come up with a solution?
Yeah, same here in Connecticut. We are getting hit pretty hard. Half their run is covered with a tarp, the other half with their water is not covered. I wanted to move their water to the covered part of the run but everything was frozen to the ground. They were all out in the run earlier in the...
