    Small white grains in poop?

Did you ever figure out what this is? I had 1 girl with this in her poop about 3 days ago. I thought maybe oyster shell? Now I have 3 piles with it in them. I checked all girls and 2 have mites. I will treat right away. Could this be the cause?

    Ameraucana and soft shelled eggs

My Ameraucan "Fat Amy" was a year old the end of March. She didn't lay her first egg until February at almost 11 months old. She was the last of my flock to lay. Her first egg was a normal egg but on the small side. She then didn't lay for several days and then we had a soft shelled egg that...

    Broody Breaker questions

We had success last night with both girls going to roost. They might have gone the night before but we weren't home to make sure so we left them in the cage to be safe. Thanks for all the help and advice.

    Broody Breaker questions

Thank you for your replies. Prior to the cage, if we took Ruby out of the nest box she would rush to the food and water, eat, drink, poop and head directly back to the nest. Now that she has food and water available in the cage, she goes directly to the nesting boxes within seconds of being...

27 weeks & acts like she will lay but doesn't

Our Barred Rock is 27 weeks tomorrow. She was the first of our girls to start the submissive squat over 6 weeks ago and was also the first to check out the nesting boxes. She spends a lot of time rearranging them and gets all cuddled up inside and will sit in there for long periods of time but...

Any suggestions on how I can find a home for my 2 roosters? I am in the Los Angeles/Long Beach Ca area. I already re-homed 1 rooster but can't find a home for these 2.

    Seeking knowledge

Sorry that took so long to get back. Busy, crazy week. They are all about 10 weeks now. The pictures were a few weeks old. The Ameraucana has no comb at all. Just the little spot that you see at the top of the beak. Nothing on the head but feathers. The BLR and the Barnevelder are crowing...

I figured as much about the Barnvelder. I'm sad about the BLRW. I really hoped it was a girl. Can you explain why you think it's a roo to help me learn? I had been checking the neck feathers and they are round and not very long. But it is bigger than all the rest and has thick legs. Also...
