she's walking again normally now, phew! haha that's lucky, mine are always getting something wrong with them. haven't encountered bumblefoot yet thank goodness, I'm sure I will though
hahahahaha! That made my day, I love geese!
I can't say mine have surprised me (as of yet) but my Chinese made me tear up when I opened my arms to welcome her over, and she ran up to me, pressed her body hard against mine, wound her neck around mine and put her wings over my arms. I do believe...
I can't speak for sebbies (I'd love some too) but my embden and chinese are far from mean, in fact they come over for cuddles if I'm sitting in the garden. It sounds horrible but I actually prefer my geese to my ducks, just because they are so affectionate. I've put a nappy on my chinese and lay...
I'm about to go and check on her - there was no swelling or anything, I didn't think to check the bottom of her foot though so I'll do that now. Haha, I think I'm just being an overprotective mother, I had too many goose/duck injuries yesterday!
My Chinese (Ginny) was being a naughty girl and tried to bite one of my Aylesbury's babies. Mother duck (Dougal) went apes*** and attacked Ginny. It ended before I could break it up and Ginny started spinning around with her wings open and then started running around all goofy like she was...
This is so sad, keeping you and your duck in my thoughts. I understand what you mean about a dog not fitting in, I have a staff who just doesn't seem to engage with everyone else. Working on it though. Keep us updated
Poor ducky. Don't feel too bad, we all make mistakes. If he can swim he'll probably be alright. If you haven't though of a name, what about Nemo? In the film he had a dodgy fin, your duck has a bad leg. Perfect name
I was more concerned about removing them from the mother - it almost feels like I'm just using her as an incubator. Would she be distressed if her babies were removed so young? Yes, I guess I just have to let them go and trust the new owner to do a good job :)
