    Well, I mean they're important and were "expensive " ( to me ). I'm just really nervous about the new incubator all around and I'm really debating on hand turning. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is forcing me out of the house and to the beach for vacation soon.

    I was just reading about how it increased hatch rates tremendously , so much so that it's patented. I'm still going to err on the side of caution, I believe and not do it.

    Does anyone use peroxide for sterilizing hatching eggs? I've been hearing about this. Also does anyone use the rcom eco suro with the cradle ? Are the egg racks it comes with okay to use ?

    We had a clutch finish hatching on 2-6. All were active and healthy yesterday, today one died. No injury or pasty butt . I feel terrible. They are with the hen and the remaining 8 are doing fantastic( eating,drinking ,active). What went wrong? I'm afraid the hen may not be keeping them warm...

    That's what happened with me; dbf swears it's a roo, which made me look harder. I have one that looks just as feminine from the same hatch and it decided it wanted to be a rooster-- (the gray I posted ) this week .

    My only real reason is that she is so much larger than the other presumed hens. I have roosters out of same stock that there's no doubt, though.

    I was sure that this blue was a pullet, it has developed slower, no steamers, it walks like a pullet, and akmist no comb ,but I'm beginning to worry. Opinion?

    I get that now, no offense was taken. I just try to explain myself and tend to be overly thorough/over analyse, which is a slippery slope in itself. It's exceedingly difficult to read emotion via a computer screen and I know I tend to come off differently than I'd like much of the time.

    Oh, no I didn't take offense , I just like to explain myself, I tend to over analyse and attempt to fit every minute detail in. I've just seen birds go rather quickly at those prices and *assumed* that's what I'd have to pay . I do greatly appreciate your input.
