Muscovy egg on day 35, still has not internally pipped yet

Well I was also taking it out of incubator at least once everyday since day 34 for just a few minutes to candle because I hadn’t heard any peeping yet, could that have been the cause?

Some kind of waterfowl though because I found them alone in different spots around my lake outside, not even in a nest

They are on day 22, however they are smaller than the Muscovy egg, so I don’t know whether they are regular ducks or Muscovy and whether I should incubate them to 28 days or 35

Yeah I think unfortunately the poor baby has passed, still no movement today :( I think it might’ve been shrink wrapped because I didn’t have it humid enough. This was my first ever time so it’s definitely a good learning experience, I have 2 other eggs I’ve been incubating though

    What does “dry” mean exactly?

Still nothing, shouldn’t the veins go away when it actually dies?

I tried tapping its bill as you’ve said but no response, I’ve also sprayed the membrane a few times so it doesn’t shrinkwrap

Looking at the picture again I’ve realized I tore a hole in the wrong place, so I went back and tore it where I believe the nostril to actually be (circled red), this time I was able to recognize the whole duck head (I’ve outlined the bill and eye in blue) please let me know if this is correct!

I see veins but no movement, the egg stays warm and it doesn’t smell either

Alright so what do I do now? I’ve opened up the hole a lot more in the process and I’ve set it back into the incubator, should I patch up the hole? Should I wrap a wet paper towel around it? should I raise the humidity? It’s currently at ~70% right now

I didn’t see this yet, I hope I didn’t mess up. I decided to pull and tear the membrane open with tweezers and I moistened the membrane with coconut oil beforehand, then I made I made the tear in the red circle where I thought the nostril was because i can see the end of the beak curving down...

Would I make a slit along the beak or at the end of the beak where the nostrils would be? And if so which end is the end of the beak?

Also just to make sure, this is the bill?

Alright I think I will try that how would I go about slicing the membrane?

I see lots of veins so I would like to believe it’s still alive but I’m not sure I want to disturb the membrane at all until I know I should, for the meantime I’ve put it immediately back into the incubator so it didn’t get cold or dry enough
