Yes, small end of the egg was up / fat end was down (Like you get them in the grocery store carton).
I only had one thermometer. The temp was 37 degrees Celsius.
We put a rooster with our hens mid-January. We kept eggs and incubated. About 36 in all inside a 48 egg incubator. One of these:
We put this egg in there 01.23.2015 and I just cracked it open today, 02.16.2015. It had gone too long and I wondered what happened. We put the eggs in fat side...
Thanks for the verification. We put them (other egss) in the incubator... So we will see what happens in a few weeks!
If the eggs were laid in the coop overnight and it was in the 20s, can I consider them still viable? Or, do hey need to be warm to the touch when I take them out of the coop?
we had a rooster with our hens for a few days before the Coyotes got them. Now, we are curious if these eggs are fertile. Will you look at these images and see if you think they are?
All of your thoughts make sense. No blood on the egg.... so, I'm guess it may have been something else... There is nothing to say *she* is the one that laid the double yoke; so they could be completely un-related.
I am new to chickens and this is my first flock. I purchased 76 Rhode Island red chicks on June 2 of 2014. There were approximately 34 hens. They started to lay a few weeks ago and I have had very good luck.
Today, I went into the chicken coop to collect eggs and found multiple normal size...
