Its up to you, but there are many reasons that can make them late. If you still see movement, they still have a chance.

Here is a picture of the set up. I used tape on the adge that I cut to prevent the styrofoam from coming appart. I cut two holes on top where the venst are located. As you can see the two thermometers/hugrometers show 99 degrees, the incubator reads 38.2. The humidity was off too. The last time, I had it at 37.8 so only 4 out of 20 made it, the last one I had to help but did not make it past teh second day. The other eggs had embryos that looked like the picture above.This tiem 4 out of 21 eggs did not make it.. Kept the lower part inside the container with the vent open for air circulation, Here is where I inserted one of the thermometer's cable. First chicks hatched on Friday morning.

Ok, I have a setup similar yours now! Thanks and wish me luck! I have other thermomete s in there now. I don't trust the integrated one at all.

Wise move. After spending a small fortune on thermometers/hygrometers, I've deduced that MY unit is low.
It also engages the heater about every other minute! That doesn't seem very stable to me.
So I added some insulation around the outside also, and now the heater doesn't kick on so often, and doesn't have to stay on as long
I'm on day 11, only lost 1 egg with blood ring, not developed, plus 5 infertile have been removed. Others are swimming like crazy!

I had bad experience cuz none of chicks come out I think they were dead I don't know what happen my temperature was at 37.6% and my humidity was50-55 give me a advise please with this incubator thanks a lot.

Do you have the same incubator mentioned in this tread? If you do, have you checked the temperature and humidity with a different thermometer and hygrometer? The ones in this incubator are inaccurate. Read my post above and see the different readings on the incubator and the thermometer-hygrometer,

I believe several of us have found with this incubator that the overall temp seems to be too low when set at 37.6. This incubator turns the heater on when it gets a couple degrees below your "set" number, and heats it up to the "set" number. 37.6 is what you want as an average number, but maintaining that number doesn't work with this unit. I turned mine up to 38.1 - 38.2, so that the "average" overall temp ends up right.

Humidity depends alot on where you live and what your local humidity level is. If you live in a high humidity area, 50-55 is probably too high for all but the last 3 days. Best bet is to buy more thermometers and hygrometers and test them for accuracy and use them along with your unit to get proper readings.

Update on mine -- I'm on day 21, but I have duck eggs, so I have another week to go. I had a few infertile and lost a few quitters, but have 7 good ducks and 1 turkey still hanging in there. Oh, and I had a huge snow storm and power outage on day 14. Was out for 47 hours, but I was able to get a generator hooked up to the bator after about 18 hours. I candled before turning it back on and I thought they were all dead. Turned it back on anyway, and to my surprise, they perked back up! They may be a day late hatching because of it, but I hope they aren't deformed or have any horrible side effects from it.

Well, I am only on day 6 with a new batch of Dominique eggs. This morning I heard the incubator alarm going off at 3 am, the temperature was low 37.4, I found that the heat element died so it was not producing heat but the fan kept on running. Luckily I had a spare heat element for a larger incubator I am building. It looks like a horse shoe. I wired up and hanged it inside the incubator. Had a spare thermo sensor too so I had to adjust it until the temperature was right.
I had read in another thread that a member had the same problem with this incubator's heat element. I hope you guys don't have this problem.

Glad you caught it, and awesome that you had a spare! How old is the unit?
