Can a Muscovy hen hatch 22 eggs??

We did 15 with our pair that we had years ago. She sat on all of them and I think there were originally 20 eggs.

Ancona and Dominique pullets hatched on 2/14 for sale in San Diego.

Thank you for the understanding. They are a fairly rare breed like the Anconas and they are both beautiful breeds. We purchased them for our flock but we wanted to get Australorps. Australorps were not available at the time so we got these. I was able to get some Australorps a week ago so we are...

Ancona and Dominique pullets hatched on 2/14 for sale in San Diego.

Thank you for the offer but I have to decline. Day old chicks ship fine. Older birds (over 6 weeks) don't do as well depending on the distance. Minimun 3 days travel for Priority Express USPS-no food or water. I recommend to whoever wants to have chickens delivered to have a reputable hatchery...

Where is the best place to get good chicks?

Murray McMurray is probably the best bet for variety and they are always healthy chicks. But you will need to buy 25.

    Chicken Breed Focus - Dominique

About as well as can be expected. I assume they will be kept in a enclosed coop? Frostbite will be an issue if not.

Best and worst winter laying breeds?

Australorps and Barred Rocks have produced the best. Heavier egg to the Australorp.

Feed costs rising! Transitioning to different feed. *Questions*

About the same price here. They will eat it eventually. After a hungry night in the coop they'll come out hungry. We supplement various feed to make up for possible nutrition deficiencies when we switch feeds. Oyster shell and protein supplement and for the life of me I'm going blank on the...

Feed costs rising! Transitioning to different feed. *Questions*

We have used it before with no noticeable issues. We are currently using Purina Layena as well. How much more did it go up? We only use 40 pounds of Layena in 40 days so we can tolerate a little increase too.

    Leach Feed's El Cantador

Yes we are only using it as treat. Thanks for all the advice. We thought it would be better than purina scratch and its cheaper. 20 dollars for 50 pounds. Looks lime it is only distributed here in California and Arizona. Leach also makes basically the same thing in a 17% protein and I think its...
