    Prunedale Ca has one of the few feed mills that makes Quail Layer crumble, just swing by LA Hearn feedstore. Also they sell a Peacock starter that's also the perfect Quail starter blend, better than turkey starter. Consider yourself blessed, not everyone has those options.

    I had the same thing happen. They couldn't break out and perished in their egg right at the end. 47% is fine until lockdown. Crank it up to 70% at lockdown so the egg shells soften up for the unzipping of the eggshell

    Do they have a website? Maybe you can check it before you waste expensive gas. That's how I found these feeds. Gas is $6 a gallon for regular gas here on the central coast of CA. People in southern CA are literally crossing into Mexico just to buy gas at $3.70ish a gallon!

    They are super friendly, an even offered to let me contact their specialist that designs the feed blends. I wish I could start a large quail farm so I could take advantage of such a valuable resource that others would just love to have close by.

    Oh an the pheasant starter is supposed to be the best starter they have for quail. They said the turkey starter was fine, but this would be better. It's also a dollar or 2 cheaper than the turkey starter so figured I'd give it a shot as well.

    It's $10 for 25 lbs, the regular chicken layer is a little cheaper, but close enough that it doesn't make much of a difference. Bought a bag just to try.

    I have tried a few different designs and I really like the Little Giant design. Keeps the water dish up off the ground to prevent them scratching dirt and junk into it so the water stays nice and clean.
