Are ducks too loud to keep in the city?

My Khaki Campbells are very obnoxious in the early morning when they want to be let out of their house. Right now they are quacking at about 6:20 (before it is even really light out). I am concerned that my neighbors will start complaining. I try to bribe them with eggs in advance.

Khaki Campbells never layed again after molting

Does anyone have advice on how to get my ducks laying again? They were born in May, started laying in October, stopped when they started molting in January. Now they have fine feathers but NO EGGS! Two others did not molt and dutifully supply me with eggs each day, all though the winter (they...

    Questions about molting

I have 4 khaki Campbells, and 2 have been molting for 4-6 weeks. When will it end? I see new feathers coming in, but not all of the flight feathers. I think that a third is starting. I am missing the eggs!

Coyotes definitely hunt during the day, too. I saw one yesterday at 9:30 AM.

    Funny duck....

We are currently looking to rescue a lab, and my husband keeps saying, "You know what labs are bred to do? Carry ducks around in their mouths!!". And my ducks are not afraid of dogs, as our last dog never had a chance of catching them. But I am confidant that we can get everyone to get along!

    Green spot inside egg

I posted about this before, and nobody responded, but now I have finally downloaded a photo. Has anyone ever seen this before? It has happened twice that I know of (I hope that people that I've given eggs to haven't found this too!). I have 4 female khaki Campbells.

Anyone have pictures or advice on frostbite?

I have 4 females and they bite each other's necks. They are so randy that one has to act the male (they take turns).

Wet ducks on this very cold morning

Thanks for the reply! They are khaki campbells. I took photos, but I cannot find the cable for the camera. But yes, they have chucks of ice hanging off. It is milder now, and they are fine, I guess. I will have to watch them. It appears to me that their oil glands are not working so well...

Wet ducks on this very cold morning

I am worried about my ducks this morning. I gave them their kitty-litter box full of water as usual, but for some reason their feathers are very wet. They are fluffed up and shivering. It is 24 degrees. I am wondering if I should stuff them back into their little house with a heating pad...

Female ducks playing the dominant role

I have 4 females, and they mount each other all of the time. One in particular likes to play that dominant role.

    Fuzzy green spot on yolk

I have 4 female khaki campbells who were born in May and are laying well (about 3 eggs a day). This morning I cracked open an egg that had been laid during the night, and it had a light green spot on the yolk that looked like mold. It was about 3/8" diameter and looked fuzzy (although I'm sure...

    Egg in the pool

The eggs that I get are so smeared with poop that I can't imagine that being in the pool water could be worse!
