I recently hatched my first batch of quail chicks. I had 5 in totally, 4 male and 1 female. I got to 8 weeks old and it all started to get abit crazy in the coop. The males had come of age! They'd started to fight and one was quite injured...it was time for the inevitable! I wasn't sure how I'd...
That's quite a low temperature to be moving them too. However, they're not far off fully feathered at that age so I'd consider letting them stay in a week longer, slowly acclimatizing them. When you do move them out, keep an eye on their behaviour. If they stay huddled together beneath the heat...
Might be worth examaning a male to see if there's any foam coming from him. Also, the reproduction cycle gets stronger as the days get longer so it may be worth waiting a while.
I changed the bedding in mine and they packed up laying for a week. They can be very particular 🤣
Give them a couple of weeks, they'll probably return back to normal.
There could be many reasons for the variation. Sensor sensitivity, configuration, refresh time, manufacturer base levels etc... If the chicks are hatching and are happy then that's a good measure that things are satisfactory.

Oh no, that's a terrible shame. I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like you've done everything right from what you've said. Was the heat lamp low enough for them?
