I applied with a pest pistol. 1 squirtingeach side and 2 on floor. 1 squirting per egg laying section. I segregated the chickens from the coop at that time. I also used the pest pistol on the chickens. I sprayed it over the feathers.I gave a quick puff of the pistol for each.
Last night I put DE on my chickens and in the coop. I noticed flies in the coop so I thought this will help.
TODAY one chicken w as lathargic and having labored breathing. She died 3 hours after I noticed the behavior.
I did give her a bath and checked for nits and mites.

I, too have a 9 month old Chicken, 1 of 10, that has this problem of missing feathers on back and abdomen and the Abdomen is red.
I had to bring indoors during the last cold snap as -30 was too cold in my estimation and their current habitat while sufficient for them in normal times is too small...
HI,
I am reconditioning my shed and turning it into a coop for my girls.I plan to take out the floor and place hardware cloth under it then up the walls with wood over it for the walls. I am doing this to keep mice, snakes, and vermin out while not exposing the girls to the cloth. I also am...
Wow. My first just started laying. So far we have had the largest egg i have seen a chicken.lay and the smallest a day later. Now it seems as if we get large size eggs.

I am concerned because 2 of my chicks (age 3 months) seem to have swollen necks or they are purposely making their feathers arranged to make the neck look larger as some kind of dominance thing. I have noticed that they are at the age where they are fighting in the run for dominance and the...
I need to know how to get my chicks to use their coop at night. They just went outside last week and they sleep under their coop, even when I place them into the coop. I cannot keep them in the coop on a 24x7 basis to "train them" as it is getting too hot here for that. I think I might do this...
Hi,
I live in Massachusetts and am new to chickens, but we did the math and it is more cost effective to have chickens and feed them to obtain eggs than to purchase them from the store and in the end we will also have meat. My daughter mad about that. We are planning a flock of 30 birds semi...
I am trying to obtain information on Coops. I have 10 chicks and we have a smallish, but adequate size coop for them to use during the summer, but am planning to build a larger coop and run in September. The total area of the run will be 20' x 15' x 6' and the coop will be inside of the run...
