I got these 2 eggs this morning and 1 just like it Friday. The shell is soft and almost transparent when a light is shined on them. I feed them layer feed, toss around scratch, meal worms and oyster shell. They are free during the day and couped and night. And they get fresh fruit and veggies...
I have not figured out which hen it is yet but they are all acting normal. I get a very large egg, double yolk every 3 to 4 days for the past month and this is what we got today. I have 8 hens - 2 over a year and the other 6 are spring chicks. I am guessing it has to be one of the 2 older hens?
I bought 10 chick from Murdochs in March and April and this little guy was one of them. I did not pick any from their more expensive bins, just their basic full size barnyard layer bins, but I ended up with this little guy as well. Any idea of breed?
