I have a few mixes here. Not even sure what breed they are.. except at least partial barred rock and maybe partial lavender orphington. I know one of these for sure is a rooster, but I'm hoping the others aren't.... The black/lavendar/barred rocks are all about 4 months old. I know for sure...
We still have her body... but it's in the trash... I'd hate to dig it out... but how do you even know what you're looking for it you open them up? I'll look for some posts about worming... Thanks!
I didn't see any odd poops.. ironically enough I was watching her walk around, and did see her poop... because I was concerned she was blocked up. Although it would be hard to tell because we have a big yard, and they are all free-roaming, plus I have dogs that love to eat the chicken poo :-/...
Yea... everyone else in the flock looks good... Everyone is pretty healthy looking. I have one chicken that has always been small... maybe I should worm her?? I didn't see any mites or anything on her... and yes, she did roost last night, but away from everyone else. It was really weird...
My Barred rock was found dead underneath the roost. Can anyone help? She was acting weird yesterday, she was super fluffy looking and being really slow. Usually she doesn't let me pet her, but yesterday she did.. Any ideas??? I'm devastated!
Thanks everyone... I caught another hen laying an egg this morning!!! She was naughty though, and laid it outside of her nest box.. lol.. I guess I need to leave that golf ball in there a little longer :-)
Craziness... I should add the white one in the top picture is a store bought for size comparison... The bottom one was in low light.. I wish I had saved it, but I ate it for breakfast.. lol. Is it normal for them to lay every other day for a while?
Thanks!!
I have a barred rock, and some buff orpingtons.. and maybe some new hampshire hens. The barred rock is 20 weeks old, the rest are at least 4 weeks behind I think.. Is it possible that I have more than one laying? The single picture is the first egg, which I'm 100% sure is the barred rock. We...
I don't think all of these birds look alike. With the exception of our one barred rock, they are all supposed to be New hampshire reds. What do you think? I also know we have two for sure roosters, but now it looks like they're all getting the crown part... any input is helpful..
