I don't know much about how much coop plans cost in general? So I'm not much help here, but I think the one I bought a bit back was pretty simple and was $15ish. And it was for an easy-to-build coop, so I think that anything more complex would cost more, because it'd be more work for you guys to...
I'd definitely want both options, a book sort of thing, and individual plans. Or even just plan "bundles", plus individual plans, you know? Like selling a set of related plans (tiny coops, or big coops, or A-frame coops, or... etc etc), plus selling each plan individually. You know?
(Also, if...
Oh excellent! I literally live across the street from a local hardware store, so I'll check them first, but we have an Ace's less then ten minutes away so I can totally go there after. Thank you, guys!!
Ooo that's pretty awesome! I forgot today was Sunday, so the library was closed, but I'm definitely heading over tomorrow to get a bunch of books they claim they have on their online catalog system.
I have basic tools, but I'm thinking of getting a super basic and unfancy $30 circular saw...
Yeah, they look hard? Like, my general approach to life is "how hard can it be?", and most of the time, it turns out to be a lot harder than I thought but still doable. So the fact that I'm looking at rafters going "ummm those look hard" makes me nervous that it's gonna be the first thing to...
When I was a kid, we had three roosters (and no hens. Bad luck.) and the friendliest one was the one that we like. Cuddled the most, I guess, as a chick? He was really pretty and not boring yellow so we-all were like "yes! must hold!". One data point does not a trend make, but hope this helps.
Oh, excellent!! I'm headed to the library tomorrow to see what they have for carpentry books. Might end up having to hit up the city library instead, but oh well.
Thank you!
Forgive my wording in this thread. I'm not really familiar at all with like. Architecture-y terms. So hopefully descriptions like "tilty-roof-thing" will make enough sense that someone can answer my question(s). Google is not being very helpful.
I'm working on designing a coop to my own specs...
Oh my god, wait, do you think instead of using hardware cloth or chickenwire around the bottom of the makeshift brooder, I could just... use cardboard around the bottom half of the sides? Like, is there a downside to having no airflow on their level for chicks? Or have I reinvented an ingeneous...
Oh man, I wish that I had a proper bunny cage for like. Baby-baby chicks. Right now all I've got is a bunny condo with 1.5" holes and the dog crate with also too-big holes. Looking forward to having to buy hardware cloth to warp around the bottom of at least one of them. (Not!)
