Sorry didn't see the other posts ,duh!
Thanks for the congrats, they are so cute!
And no,I know other people open them to see but I see nothing gained for me except nightmares.
I will take them out after tonight, the 2 hatched Friday morning.
Thanks you guys!
Well I ended up helping the first one out after the next one was completely hatched (and it didn't even pip till about 7 hrs later) and they are both fine. The first egg still only had a small hole ,16 hrs or more after it first pipped. Sadly my 6 other eggs did not hatch .
I'm sure they wont...
Thanks,I just don't want to loose any if i don't have to. I know what you are saying about the natural selection ,I am just worried it would be because something I did ,like not having the right humidity.
How do you know if it is in obvious distress though? If you see no movement ,no progress at...
Hello,Thanks so much for your answer. I just got worried because I just read a few things in my search, horror stories basically ,how they died because it was to dry or whatever. But thank you ,this gives me a timeline. I was gone a couple of hrs. and when I got back discovered the zip. That was...
Hello ,I don't know all the correct terminoligy,I just searced and found a lot of piping and zipping but I'm not sure what exactly it means.
I'm only on day 20 (buff Orps in bator) but heard chirping yesterday. Now there has been a tiny triangle broken out of one egg (is that the pip or...
Thanks all!
Yes I know,I somehow never got used to the 'hen' term,I'm always calling the girls 'chickens'

These new ones are almost grown, almost 4 mo. old. I do have 2 other roos and 3 chickens.
What is the time...

BTW,not sure if you understood the 'give a new egg a break ' comment was for people...
Hey ,I'm really not dissing that guy,GOOD FOR HIM! I'm just curious how and why ,that's all.
Will this be a registered breed then? How do you get to that point?
Ok,I'm new to this but seen the auction for the silver laced brahma eggs that is near $400 now.
Are these just SLW crossed with light Brahmas in the beginning?
And it takes 20 years of breeding to get them to breed true?
Is that why they are so much?
If I do the same cross ,will the first...
