I have a fourth Americuna doing this chirping (none of my other flock have done this.) They all have died, accept the current one which will probably expire soon. Hoping by reposting someone might have an idea.

I use nipple waterer for chicks straight from the hatchery with no problem. When I get them out of the shipping crate first thing I do one at at time is get their beaks to poke the nipple. Never had an issue. (of course I there is occasionally one or two lost birds the first week but doubt that...
After writing the post my mind is close to made up that I have a mystery pullet laying blue eggs. I really suspect my White Rocks.

Ok next dumb question, If I have 25 chicks (my usual order) and one brood hen can I put then in a small coop with a red lamp to keep the overflow warm. In other words if I have a broody hen with overflow chicks will she more harmful than helpful?

These are assorted mixes from McMurrays, I don't think they are bantams were included in the assortment, however it is not specifically not Bantams either.
I got this from McMurrays which does not have Golden Pheonix but they do have Golden Campines which after googling they resemble. Thinking that might be the answer. The leg color is the key too.
