mallard in respiratory distress any ideas what to do??

thanks!! it seemed hard to find info on what to do for a choking duck :) This morning she is quacking pretty hoarsely and not as much as usual but she has eaten and laid an egg!! And is keen to get outside. She still coughs so I hope it is just inflammation and not still an obstruction. We'll see.

mallard in respiratory distress any ideas what to do??

she seems to have managed to clear her airway herself. She has stopped wheezing and is now breathing more normally. And spending alot of time blowing in the water. Although she is still coughing and sneezing every few minutes. I have been researching what to do for a choking bird and found this...

mallard in respiratory distress any ideas what to do??

We have a female mallard about 3yo. Eating normally (flock raiser and fortified grit) I put her in the coop tonight 6pm and she ate her dinner and was fine. About 1/2hr ago I heard funny noises and went out to find her in respiratory distress. She is gasping for air, opening her mouth with...

Muscovy on eggs aprox. 29 days.

We raised her from a chick. This is her first clutch. She's been on for about 29days. We have a bator but plan to let her hatch. Is it around 35 days that they should hatch? She will not permit an egg to be taken to candle. Any comments are welcome, I was very young last time I had muscovy...

Jamey Duck, Give us Yee Jamey!

Funny wouldn't attribute this type of emotion to a wee mallard. She, Lilly, was very vocal. She hasen't said a quack, but sits where Jamie used to with her head under her wing. We'll see, we may have to get other mallards or send her to live with some.

I'd like you tell you of Jamie. We adoped him years back his mate had been killed, wifey drove up to the north side of the lake to pick him up. He was a great looking mallard. We bought a young female mallard and she was all over him. Patd is duck in Armenian, Potdair is ducks, so we named...

    Mean Muscovy

Thankyou, that sounds scromtious. Wifey used: red wine and butter, it was very nice, the whole family liked it. We raised white muscovy, when I was a boy, my cousin made a face while eating it, and I remember refusing to eat any, I don't know if I ever did, and we had it quite often. . These...
