    well I did it yesterday and things seem to be going good so far. One of the new birds was even up roosting last night, I'm sure this will help teach the others where to sleep at night :-) I will keep you posted on any future happenings

    if for some reason down the road if I remove the chickens, or sell the house this will convert into a nice shed quite easy.
  9. My coop I built. 4x4 metal posts pounded into the ground(the kind you see for mail boxes) then some 1x3 perlings to screw the siding to, metal roof. Added the nesting boxes and run. Buried fence for run 8 inch into the ground to help prevent any tunneling predators. Material cost approximately $500.00 including entrance door. Complete with guard dogs, I hope to have the safest chickens in the north east.

    the hens where getting tore up ! to much "hanky panky" had to thin out the boys. got one more to go. Any advice on introducing the 7 new birds? planning on next week.
