This year I decided to try out a couple of bantams. I have had two of them with 3 other hens ( barred rock, leghorn and red sexlink ) growing up in a wooden box I made for my basement until there are big enough to introduce to the old flock. I would say they are all about 10 weeks old now and I just noticed one of the Bantams has either developed a crooked beak or took a nasty sucker punch from one of the others. I also noticed it's tongue is beginning to dry out, most likely because it can not shut its beak. I am concerned for this little chic and do know what to do. Have any of you gone through such a thing ? Any suggestions ?
