Hatched 12 eggs and still don’t know the sex of this one… 16 weeks. Maran X olive egger… thoughts? The Roos with the same mix are very easy to tell in the ones I hatched

    14 week old chick

No respiratory, just tired. I did notice one foot was starting to curl, chicken still alive but doubt by tomorrow. Don’t want to stop the Corid but also feel guilty not giving vitamins if that’s the case. If the crop isn’t emptying, what do I do? hard to tell

Day 3 today but seems to be declining. I will separate As the others are picking on it. Will also get some chick starter

    14 week old chick

Sick chicken, doesn’t have much energy to stand and can’t roost as it’s off balance. If I wake up and it’s dead I’ll get it tested as this will be #5 and all from the same fertilized eggs I bought from a local gal.

I’m in Alaska, we free range so they should get their own grit from outside right? I will get a photo tonight, it is eating and drinking just unstable on feet

    14 week old chick

2tsp per gallon, been cleaning and filling up new water everyday. No added vitamins. Chicks have been eating laying pellets for over a month now as they eat both (before we were locking them up with chick starter at night but have since put them all together) they will be 15 weeks Sunday. I...

Dying chickens. What could it be?

15 week old chicks I hatched this spring. I’ve lost 4 (almost 5) the past 2 weeks. Slowing down/dying the same way. Off balance, still eating & drinking, pale comb, laying down a lot, one even came into the garage and laid down by my feet. Treating for coccidiosis (day 3). The odd thing is it’s...

    14 week old chick

I’m back, looks like I’m losing another chicken. Slowing down/dying the same way. Off balance, still eating & drinking, pale comb, laying down a lot. Treating for coccidiosis (day 3). The odd thing is it’s only the chicks dying not the 8 (2 year old) hens, they all free range together. I am...

    14 week old chick

Woke up to another sick chicken. That will be #4 in a little over a week. Will get corid today and hope to save it and the rest of the flock

    14 week old chick

We ended up culling the chicken. The other chickens were attacking it so we knew something wasn’t right. It also stopped walking so would’ve likely died that day. We did what we could. Question: should I treat for coccidiosis for all chickens? Off to lose 3 chickens in 1 week

    14 week old chick

Thank you so much for all that info! I’ve had chickens for a couple years and this is my first time having dead/sick chickens. I’ll treat today

    14 week old chick

It almost looks like her chest. But also did a weird gagging thing today. Assume it’s a roo too?
