    I have put them up there a few times, but not at dark. Perches are about 2-3 ft off ground. I guess I will try putting them up there for a few days straight. Does it hurt anything for them to be on the ground?

    Is it ok for my chickens ot sleep on the ground? I have plenty of roosting area inside the coop, but they sleep right in the doorway huddle together on the ground. They are 15 week old RSL.

    I usually can expect to lose 10% of day olds, but not that many. Sounds like they were shipped upside down which means they had the bedding on top of them the whole time and possibly were upside down themselves.

    It seems like I always lose around 10% of my chicks either way, so you should probably go get them before someone else does!

    I fed my 4week old RSL some white bread the other day and they loved it! It was fun watching them run around trying to keep everyone else from getting their piece of bread. My question is this: Is there any table food that I can't feed 4 week olds?

    Yeah, unless you are going to have 50 layers, 12 boxes is too many. 1 box to 4 hens is the rule of thumb.

    I have 13 3 week olds in a large cardboard box that is about 3ft by 4ft and everyone is doing fine. I have a medium feeder and medium waterer in there along with some sticks for them to learn to roost on and that's it. I have been starting to give them scraps of food to play with to keep them...

    Yes I have separated it, but it continues to get weaker. Not sure it is going to make it. When I checked her this morning, she was face down in the hay. I picked her up and she was still alive. Is there anything I can do?

    movable fencing?

    Most major home stores sell 6x6 panels that you can just clip together. You can use as many as you like. There is usually a bolt holding the clips together, so you can undo the bolt if you ever want to take it apart or change the shape.

    I think I will try to seperate her from the rest and give her plenty of food and water and hope she catches up to the rest. They are actually starting to get second row of feathers on their wings and she is barely started the 1st.
