The bottom of the egg that is crushed feels squishy. I wondered if the yolk was still in there. What to do about that problem? Will the baby stay in the egg until it is absorbed? btw thank you for responding
Last night I checked the eggs under the goose and one of the eggs had an external pip. There was movement in the egg so I let it all be. This morning when I went out one of the other female geese had climbed into the nest with this mamma and had squashed this egg. I don't think it was quite...
I have 5 eggs under a chicken that are getting within a week of hatching. My question is... The nest is about 2 feet off the ground. Do I leave the chicken and her eggs there? Will the chicks fall out? When they do get down out of the next then what, do they need a little roost or what? I'm...
Update on my farmyard dilemma . Traded 4 drakes for 1 gander. My yard is so much calmer now. The drake occasionally chases the geese around but without 5 drakes they can escape much more easily. It's all good now.
I wondered that too but I swore all 15 of the hens have been laying for about 6 months. lol I am getting 14 eggs per day. Their pen is open during the day for them to come and go as they please so I wondered if anything else would lay there too. So funny.
While gathering the eggs today we found the cutest little surprise. This cute little egg which is laying on it's side in the egg carton it is so small. I'm just wondering if it is a chicken egg? It was in the nest with the other chicken eggs but wow is it little. These hens have been laying...
I have raised my geese from babies. (Along with the ducks and chickens) They are nearing a year old and will still eat out of my hand. They are very vocal (loud) when I'm near too. The ducks are not as friendly. Never have been. Could be the breed. The chickens talk to me too but it is more...
Last spring I bought 3 young goslings. White and brown Chinese. As they grew there was one very timid one and two very talkative loud ones. I just kind of figured the timid one was female and the bossier two were male. Long story short, they grew up. One of them started laying in my flower...
I am in Utah. I put a note on my Facebook account wanting to trade my drakes for a male goose. I think it may work out okay. I checked into processing them but, yeah, that is not happening. I am weak. Tonight the mean drakes are locked up separately from everything. The one drake that is...
I've got 4 domestic mallard drakes to give away or trade. I'm in Northeastern Utah. I also have 3 female geese that need a man around. Can Anyone help?
