Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

I live in Dickinson, my quail are in Glen Ullin. Watford City does not allow quail in city limits but if you are out of town we can work out something. My girls are done laying until spring, quail do not lay well in the winter. They are just living the life of luxury right now lol

Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

Sweet! I go thru the Fargo area once a month, I take my sister to Mayo clinic for treatments. If you are ever interested in adding some coturnix or tibetan quail to your flock maybe we can do an egg trade? I just got my yearly testing avian disease free certificate and propogation permit so I am...

Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

I am in the badlands of ND by Dickinson area. You will have to keep your chickens indoors alot in the winter but make sure they have plenty of air circulation or they will get sick from the humidity build up. I prefer quail, but on the farm my mom and I share coops and she had Barred rocks and...

Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

Contact our state extension service, we actually have 7 poultry clubs in the state. I raise quail so I am in the quail club but all the clubs have get togethers where we help eachother fill out license forms. In ND you now need to be licensed to sell any eggs, most of us also have our flocks...

It has been awhile since I posted in here, we have moved to a new house after losing our other one to a tornado, unfortunately this area is home to alot of stray dogs. Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

shh ,dont say it too loud that you are doing barter ie alfalfa for eggs. new ND laws state you have to report that on your taxes. Our big boy gov. didn't block the amendment that would have keep that legal. I am finding out that alot of things I do on the farm to keep expenses low are actually...

Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

I just can sell hatching eggs at this point, in ND you need a special license to legally sell eggs for eating, way too many laws. The only thing I can do is tell people I am selling them for hatching or pet food, but what they do with them after they leave my house is up to them hehe.

Hey, Anyone from North Dakota? Even though I doubt it.

A ND thread would be awesome! this winter has been so odd, I wish I had not cut back my quail, they would have handled this fake winter so easily so far! THey even started laying again, something that has never happened until at least March for me. This end of the state has grown by over 20...

    How often to clean coop?

I clean out all my coops and cages twice a month. I have had zero problems with mites or diseases and I have some hens (mixed breed) that are going to be 13 years old that still lay!! Clean coops are the best way to keep a bird healthy and the cheapest!! I have always felt that if I cannot make...

what is this on my game-cam?

It looks like a young couger. We have shot 4 so far this year. Last year we lost 14 yearlings and 2 horses to cougers. The last straw was when one was perched on the shed roof looking into my sons bedroom window. We now kill all on sight, game and fish dept said its a good idea.

    Who here is into Photography?

If you check the ND outdoors calendars over the last 10 years you will usually find one of my photos in them. Also if the hallmark card has a bulldog on it that is not Zelda, it is probably one of my bulldogs shot in the makeshift studio. I am not a professional photographer but I do take some...
