    Hi friends, I’m seeing news of avian flu at an egg producing plant in this area. Thoughts on how to protect my home flock? Should I refrain from free ranging right now?

    I will get a picture soon. Her crop has not emptied. She was hanging both wings low and looking weak today I gave her some boiled egg and pellets grit to keep her going.

    I’m sorry I should’ve clarified it’s coconut oil I have been using. She does have persistent full crop at this point even with massage. I gave her a small boiled egg and grit/small amount of her pellets to sustain her. No laying yet.

    I have 4 olive egger pullets who just started laying a few weeks ago. They’re noticed all of their ears turned white around the time they put out first egg. Is this significant or nothing to worry about? Picture attached

    Oh thank you for sending! They are black with some blue barring. They aren’t laying yet tho so we will see! They appear to l marans hybrids but I’m definitely not an expert.
