Hi Duckgirl! Sorry for not messaging you in awhile. Guess what? We have 3 new pullets we bought from a 4-h chicken auction yesterday! Their 2 red sex links and a black sex link. No names yet. Oh yes, its supposed to be in the low 80s all week!!! The low for tonight in supposed to be in the 50's!!!! And were getting lots of rain!! Have a great rest of your weekend!! *HUGS*

Hi, I just found out that my hen that was missing was was eaten by a coyote. Yesterday evening in broad daylight a coyote tried to catch one of our foraging chickens with someone just a few seconds away! Its terrible. So now until we build a run were leaving them up in the coop, but coyotes also attack cats and dogs and we have 3 outdoor cats and 2 dogs. My hen with the leg mites isn't doing good, I think she has a leg infection or something she can't even use her legs anymore, she stays in the coop 24/7. And this morning one of my hens had prolapse or something, she is doing fine now though, I think she had to lay an unusually large egg, this month has especially been hard, how are you and your flock? Sorry for such a long message, *HUGS*

Hi Duckgirl, yesterday one of my girls was lost after a storm. Were thinking she got wandered off and something got her. We can't find ONE feather! We asked our neighbors if they saw her and they hadn't, but they had been seeing some coyotes So were thinking it was either a coyote or fox that caught her. So now were keeping a close eye on the rest of the flock, I just feel bad for her disappearing like this. Have a wonderful day, *HUGS*

Hi, yay! Cleaning the coop is over!! LOL Rain? Haven't had any of that in awhile You remember me telling you about my hen with the scaly leg mites? Well she is doing worse I think She couldn't move her legs this morning, I soaked her legs in warm water, scraped of the dead scales and dirt, and coated her legs in vaseline, 'Princess' my Black sex link pullet, bullies her. She won't let her out of the coop and she attacks her, I try to stop her but she won't. I feel soo sorry for her, I hope she gets better Have a great day, *HUGS*
