Best little bantams!
Pros: Tiny bearded cuties
Gentle hens
Easy to keep
Easy to show
Roosters are full of confidence but not mean
Do well in confinement
Cons: Hard to find good stock
Hard to find many of the color varieties
Small enough you can have a lot of them! 😆
I have almost 20 d’Anvers and have yet to have a single mean bird. They’re all sweet, gentle, easy to handle birds that I don’t worry about around my kids ever. I highly recommend getting chicks or hatching eggs from breeders that spend the time on temperament as part of their program. So far mine have been easy going, sweet, hardy little birds that have been fun to take to shows and 4-H projects! 😍

I've searched everywhere for BB d-anvers and can't find them. Can you tell me where you first got yours? Or perhaps anyone that may sell Belgium Bearded d'anver chicks or eggs? I had a flock for over 20 years. I've had all kinds of chickens, dozens of breeds but hands down, these are my favorite. Personable, sweet-natured, easy to tame, hardy, pretty to look at and that little muff! How can anyone resist them? I'm ready to get back into the chicken-keeping business again and I want to do it with the breed I love best. Now if only I can find someone that has BB d-anver chicks or eggs to sell. Thanks for any help.

You bet! I joined the BB d’Anver Club and there are also public and private Facebook pages for the club and have gotten eggs from folks on there! I also got super lucky and found hatching eggs of show quality on eBay that were fairly close by (Fresno to Sacramento). I would be happy to help you! 😁
