Pros: *A gorgeous bird* *Cold hardy* *Good egg producer* *Broody* *Hens are sweet*
Cons: *A bit skiddish at points* *Roosters are aggressive* *Very flighty* *Doesn't like to be caught*
My friend has had several Andalusians throughout her chicken experience, and her rooster, Bitty Cloud, was probably an even meaner than my first Arucana rooster, Chubby-Cheeks the 1st, and that's saying something! Even though her rooster was a meanie, her hen, Winnifred, is a good egg producer, even if she is still skiddish and flighty. But these are somewhat decorative birds in my opinion, especially the roosters. I definitely wouldn't recommend this bird to a beginner.
Pros: *Cold hardy* *Very sweet* *Lays often during the winter* *Prolific* *Very pretty* *Good with kids* *Easy to take care of*
Cons: *Very Loud* *Never very high on the pecking order*
I love this breed, and I highly recommend it to someone who is a beginner with chickens. They love and adore people, are very prolific throughout most of their life, and are usually good with other birds. They are easy to take care of since they are very large birds and can live off of their fat for a very long time. LOL! Just kidding! I think the only thing you need to watch out for in this breed is the fact that they are sometimes RIDICULOUSLY loud. They aren't loud all the time, but when they need food or have just laid an egg, they need to be shushed somewhat. Also, if you are considering getting a B.S.L., make sure that she is one of the first birds that you get since they are super sweet, and will not show their dominance to a large gathering of birds. This breed is great for beginners through pros, and I would place them next to the Buff Orpington on the 'must have' list. In my opinion, they deserve to be higher on the list than #24! I hope that this review is helpful to you!
Pros: *Super sweet* *Beautiful patterns on wings* *Love people* *GORGEOUS LITTLE CHEEKS!* *Cold hardy*
Cons: *A bit skiddish at points* *Roosters are aggressive*
I have had so many Arucanas throughout my experience with chickens, I have gotten to the point where I can't even recall all of them! The very first one we ever had was Chubby-Cheeks the 1st, the second, Rascal, the third, Chubby-Cheeks the 2nd, the next, Rascal the 2nd, and so on! And guess what? THEY WERE ALL ROOSTERS OR CAUGHT BY RACCOONS OR HAWKS!! ARGH!! Finally, we got one, (named Lucky for reasons you can guess,) and she has been a WONDERFUL hen! Super sweet, lets you hold her like a baby, and lays gorgeous eggs, and her wing pattern is very pretty! This is a great starters breed!

Pros: Good egg producer, cold-hardy, sweet if well-cared for in chickhood
Cons: Flighty, skiddish if not well-cared for in chickhood, doesn't lay many eggs during winter
I have an Ancona bird, and she is actually pretty sweet, and is a good egg-producer. Although she is all pros in the summer, during a long period in the winter, she doesn't produce eggs very often. She is also quite flighty if we let her wings grow out, and a bit skiddish at times. But she really is a good bird. She is higher on the pecking order, which helps with her winter egg production once in a while.

If you are looking for birds to add to your flock, I recommend the Ancona.
