My Pet Chicken
Pros: Was able to order 1 of each breed I wanted.
Fantastic Customer Service
Changing your order is simple
Cons: Shipping was expensive for small orders, but worth it IMO
Was so pleased with my experience with MPC (my pet chicken). They answered all my questions, made suggestions on breeds for my climate, allowed me to change my order as many times as I wanted up until the Thursday before hatch day (Mondays) and all my babies showed up healthy and thriving, Will absolutely order from them in the future. Since they are still babies I cannot tell if they were sexed correctly, but I have faith in this company.
Pros: Wide variety, good stock of bird, arrived safe and healthy
Cons: Shipping costs can be high on small orders
I’ve used Cackle several times and I’m waiting on 36 Orpingtons now.
always gotten extras and always had any questions answered in a timely manner.

I ordered 28 birds from Meyer Hatchery. All arrived alive and well. They had the best selection at the best price in December. A lot of hatcheries don't seem too active then. Anyway, there were two birds with cross beaks, but Meyer refunded me for them when I reached out. I went with their Adopt Me Bargain along with a few Ancona and Wyandotte hens to hedge against a mess of roosters or birds that can't take the Texas heat. I'm no expert and they're only six weeks old, but it appears that I've got a good mix of roosters and hens for the 21 that I got as a straight run of random breeds.

I did make a point of tracking shipping so as to keep my schedule clear so I could get to the post office shortly after the chicks arrived. They arrived the day after hatching.
