    I have 2 pekin ducklings (that require niacin) and some baby chicks in a brooder. Storey's guide to raising ducks says to put 100 to 150mg of niacin per gallon in their water. Would that harm the chicks?

    thanks glucke!!! the roost is as high as the 2 x 4 running along the back wall. they all roost except the 4 silkies they sleep under the nest boxes on the right of the pix. oh i also have 2 golf balls in each of the nest boxes.

    sorry i can't help you but I also hate the wait and see!!!!! one minute it's like ok a roo then the next it's a pullet, nope a roo, nope a pullet etc..... very frustrating!!!!!

    14 weeks old on monday..haven't heard a crow yet....thanks for your input!!!!! I think this is a roo, his/her comb is small, you can hardly see it with the feathers there. I think this is a roo, his/her comb is large and has large wattles.

    dust bath ?

    Thanks...I bought some DE and was going to use that mixed in with some sand but I'm not sure when to let them bathe in it and was wondering when other people introduced their chicks to dust baths.
