oh I hope it's good news - because after I posted this I noticed that my girl's tail feathers were drying up as well and it appeared that things had gone back where they belonged and she's being doing fine since so I hope it stays that way
I know this may seem like a dumb question but bare with me
I have a 7 mth old laying silkie whose 1st egg, several weeks ago, caused her vent to prolapse. following advice from here I doctored her up with a warm bath and the honey to push it back in and put her in a crate in the laundry room...
great information! thanks, I like the pet aspect, although thus far they aren't as friendly as my Red's, they are getting better, I at least I can climb in the pen with out them scattering now - I will try to remember to post some more pictures as they get a little older
on a scary side note -...
thank you for the help - the last two pic are the same bird but one of the other that wouldn't cooperate for a picture has the same facial characteristics so I believe I must have 2 roos and 4 hens
can you tell me what I have - these are about 1 1/2 old months old "assorted" bantams from tractor supply - I believe they are all silkies but I'm not sure what gender - if you could tell me what to look for based on these photos I would be grateful
we also use it - that is the 1st thing we do when we get back from Christmas eve service at church - now my 12 looks it up on the computer faster than I do

I went let our dog out at 5:30 am and on my front step there was a gray dove, of course it flew away when I opened the door, but I noticed a whole lot of bird poo where he/she was sitting so I think it took refuge from the rain and snow last nite.
I always thought doves stayed in pairs and...
