Story of our raising and hatching own to process of mixed flock

Sold 5, 4 pullets and a roo to family. Keeping 3 pullets. Have 10 going to market end of Aug as we just don't have all supplies or funds to get supplies to do them ourselves. 5-6$ a bird processed and packaged.

    Sexing Brahma chicks

I have a thread dedicated to Buff Brahmas and how they grow if you want to try to compare (I can't get my phone to work properly right now to link it) But Brahmas are very tricky. I've had some pullets feather slower, while cockerels are even slower, with an exception here and there.

    Sexing Brahma chicks

If you are able to do a full body photo, head photo, side photo, that would be greatly appreciated for determining Brahmas. We have 12week old buff Brahmas and we have one too that is just now fully feathered.

Story of our raising and hatching own to process of mixed flock

They were all going to go to market (haha) at the same time, so was hoping they'd survive long enough to get there . We shall see. Next year won't have different groups, and we'll separate sooner, too many life bumps and weather

Story of our raising and hatching own to process of mixed flock

Welp, these boys may not make it to grow out date lol almost accidentally killed one this morning. Hit him *just* right as he was attacking a girl while I was feeding. Never had so many issues out of boys. Girls have been separated, wanted to do it last week but crap happens. Now to figure out...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I know when I was looking at the terre haute one the labels were not correct for even the very easy to distinguish breeds. The lady had no idea what ones were what either, although another lady told me they just hadn't updated the signs. Ive not been to avons in over a year to check, but could...

    Are my Chickens beyond HELP?

I know I'm late to the party, what other breeds do you have? Sorry if mentioned in another post. We had 4 buff orpingtons --who are supposed to be the sweetest ever-- 3 of the 4 started attacking every chicken. I quickly snatched them up after second day and rehomed them. Instant calm over the...

How can I keep my flock happy and cool in the summer heat?

Hi! There are definitely a ton of advice and posts just for this if you figure out search words to use. We are in central IN and have Brahmas and keep them cool with fans(closed drum), deep shade, a low sled full of water, as well as at times watering the ground(can't think of better verbage...
