    i buy inexpensive indoor/outdoor carpet the width of my nesting boxes and cut to fit, my boxes r wood, easy to take out and clean or thow away and repeat. have also used placemats from $tree and cut to fit, very inexpensive. empoyee at home depot always wonders why i only buy a foot of carpet!

    will the chickens eat this? i use it to deter bugs in pantry. a farmer i buy my wheat grain from in ND says he uses it to deter and kills wheat weevils, so i keep a large sprig in my bags.

    a drop of straight lavender works to remove itch and heal(works on blemishes also) this time of year with all the rain, rubber boots-they don't seem to be able to climb up them!

    I live in florida and had a huge avacado tree that the hens loved to sit under in summer. they would peck the fallen avocado's to open the skin and eat all the flesh. they left the cleaned skin in tack and the pit. never lost a hen.
