The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

We all could use indentured servants, especially me, I have solved the issue by never leaving for more than 5 hours at a time. Besides where am I going to go that's any nicer than here.

Are yours running the place too, some nights it's hard to get enough bed space, and there's a line up to be on the couch, and I hide on the porch to eat cheese, shameful.

LOLOL...No, we have several dogs but only one house dog that has been pretty well trained, much to my surprise. He doesn't beg and eats what is given to him. His treats are quick-frozen beef hearts and tongue that have been sliced up in morsel size. He absolute loves them! Even if he is in the same room during dinner time...he stays away from the table. When my daughter drug him in, I thought he was going to be a serious pain in the AZZ but not so. I really like him.

The other dogs are kenneled and let loose at night to deal with any sort of two or 4 legged creatures that prowl the darkness.

So I shouldn't say I have five in the house, because then I'd be crazy, and I shouldn't say I think about getting another one all the time, I'll just keep that to myself.

Not at all...During our years of exhibition, for our own dogs and professionally, we had as many as 10 or 12 dogs in the house at a time. We didn't have the kennel system that we now have for our own dogs and we rarely had less than four adults, not to mention a litter or two. That's why we had so many X-pens to use when building the grow-out pens for the birds and still have a few stashed away in an outbuilding.

Just ran away from home with friends to the ocean(florida), my DH stayed to take care of dog and hens. Any more than 3 days and he would insist I find a hotel that took dogs and chickens!
