Hey All,
It's been quite some time since I've been on BYC and just as long since having a flock of Seramas. I'm currently seeking them in the Northeast Georgia area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
it happened to me once. wound up at the doctor the next day with my eye almost swollen shut. I had to have eye drops for about a week. I feel your pain...OUCH!
I went to the doc a few years ago with severe trouble. Told me to lay off caffeine, sugars, fatty foods. Anything acidic can be painful to any lining already harmed by the acid juices during heartburn. This includes tea and coffee decaf or not, tomato, citrus....Take an otc heartburn pill...

I wouldn't mind trying to do it. I like the idea of regions. My work load is going to be pretty heavy for the next couple weeks. Everyone feel free to pm me with any info. I've been out of the loop and see many new members just in my area. It'll take me a bit to go through 125 pages...
I haven't spent much byc/computer time lately. I popped in today to see what was going on where and saw that this thread is still going strong. Thought I'd say "hey" to my fellow Georgians!
Niss, after 2 yrs of age the hens laying ability slacks off. I've heard others say that that's the age that they start loosing hens. However I have a couple leghorns 3+ still laying and going strong.
Thanks, ddawn. I thought of that also, but I had a rooster to die first. I caught the...
also this is an established flock, no newbies. They are several different breeds in there. 2 of which went broody for the first time. However these aren't the sick birds--so far. There is a polish roo, the blr wyandotte died. Had the roos just to keep order and protect the girls when out of...

They are all over 2yrs, which is why 1 death didn't upset me too much at first. I can't find any signs of respiratory at all and there aren't any external parasites. They are due for deworming, but I was a vet tech for many years. Normally intestinal parisites cause other...
I need all your help and advise. My layer pen is an older flock, so when 1 became weak and died it wasn't much of a surprise. Then another and now 1 more is behaving odd. All three birds have gone down with in a week and a half. The only symptoms seem to be lethargy and weakness. They spend...
LOL, chicken math is also counting 2 bantams as 1.....5 standard chickens + 4 bantams = 7 chickens. Or tiny seramas...6 seramas = 1 standard. This is the logic I use on my hubby... The smaller the bird= less space needed and less food used.
In my mixed flock I suddenly found purple eggs. This is an established pen...no one has been added in over a year. I have 1 ee that lays a blueish egg shown. Here is the first picture...
I have black copper marans in the pen. A friend said that she found a purpleish egg in her bcm pen...
at the moment this is just a thought, but I'm considering turkeys next spring. To all of you turkey/chicken people I need your input.
1. how difficult are they to raise and are they broody/motherly
2. compared to chickens, how are they on feed
3. how many girls will a tom be ok with
4. what...

Yes, eppi always ready and sweet hubby is going out tonight to kill for me. You are right, every sting seems to get a little worse. No breathing troubles YET, but never know when it'll happen. SEVERE swelling, itching, fevers, and light headed so far... went outside a few minutes...
thanks everyone, I'll be trying some (maybe all at once..lol) of these methods! Had me a long benadryl "nap" after posting, so just now reading replies. Thanks for your help.
