Thanks. Actually I live right next to the ladies tee off box on the ninth hole. I don't even golf, but have lived on about 3 different courses, and like you, I wont ever do it again. Hopefully, it wont be long before I can start my plan all over again.
This is the only picture that I took of...
I'd just make up the normal food for all the chooks (whole flock, adults and chicks alike, more protein added later for chicks), mix the minced garlic in, scoop out some and they could pick at it as they pleased. Most of the time they went after the garlic first.
I've never had garlic-averse...
Yeah, it stinks!! I might be moving back to Fla though where I have plenty of room for a huge coop. I don't really want to go back there, but I might have to. I will keep you all informed though. Good things do come to those who wait!!
Well, my chicken raising is done, unfortunately. We just talked to a cop and he said it would be a $500 fine if we had chickens here. Oh well, I may be moving soon and I'll be able to raise them then. I appreciate all your help and knowledge. I will be back though!!
I'll have to wait until we move to get more now, it seems like. I'll be stuck with about 8 until then. At least I'll have experience when it comes to having an actual flock of my own!!
I just found out last night that my chicken math is going the wrong way. The coop that I was building is not in the place to where my landlord/ father in law, will accept it, for whatever reason. I planned on an 11x8 coop, but now it looks like I will only be able to make a 8x4 coop on the side...
I have a change of plans now, unfortunately. We live in a complicated situation where it's actually my father in law's house, but, supposibly, we can do anything we want here. Apparently now, I cannot put my coop on the back porch, like I had first planned on, so now I have to move it to the...
Nice, but why doesn't anybody else seem to do that? I have chicken wire, but heard from others the predators may be able to get in it, so I plan on getting hard wire with about 1/2 mesh for it. I plan on having about 4 smaller windows in it as well.
I plan on making a run for the chickens I plan on getting next week, with a 6' chain link fence. I will be putting 28" high, mesh on the bottom of it to try and detour predators from getting in. Also I plan on making a wooden 'fence' on the outside of it as well. The run will be approximately...
Thanks!! As for my dog, when she was little, she cam around the house whining at us and brought us to the back because there was a baby bird that fell out of it's nest. She won't bother them at all, and she doesn't dig either, so the chickens will be safe around her. I'll post this with another...
