I have always heard not to let dogs have chicken bones because they could choke on them, I guess because they can “splinter up” as the dog chews on them. Is that not the case?
i currently have ring necks and diamonds. I wouldn’t mind getting into other species. What others are commonly kept and what are your experiences with them?
Peanut butter jar with a few holes in it then fill with feed. Few flakes of hay. CD hanging from string. Balloon hanging from string. Cucumber or squash hanging from string.
I’m thinking a lot of the chirping is because it’s by itself in the dark. Also, new chicks should have some form of heat, they should be able to utilize a heat source that’s warmer that just room temp. If it’s not eating it wouldn’t be pooping. I’m not sure that constipation is the problem.
Did you compare the ingredients, if they’re made of the same thing that’ll answer your question.
That being said I give my hens the regular suit cakes in the winter, this time of year I stick with squash and zucchini.
Thanks for the reply. Yes it’s just those two in the enclosure but now that I think about it, the other day my broad breasted gobbler got loose and the two were sparing through the fence.
I’ve dealt with lice in chickens and I hope this doesn’t come across as offensive but, a birds first line of defense against lice is dust bathing. Do you have a sand box or something in the pen for them to dust bath and get rid of the lice on their own?
Sometimes chicks get poop stuck to their butts, almost looks like that’s what happened and someone pulled it off. It actually doesn’t look to bad. Really nothing to do, just let them grow up.
I’m trying to figure out why this is so funny? The pic is a turkey.....it was posted in the turkey forum, not hidden, why the announcement “this is the pic”
