So it’s night time and I added 9 chicks to a broody hen. She’s has been broody for about a week now. I put them under her and they went under her. I think it was just because it’s warm though. She flattened out to accommodate them all. I’m wondering if she would attack them or if they would even...
Ok, yea I never saw a string. When I removed the egg shell nothing was connected that I could see. The reason for removing the egg shell was that it closed around another egg that was pipped.
Yes I saw a white almost glob of stuff in the egg shell. It might’ve hatched a little early like you said although it is day 21. The others have just pipped with one taking it’s time to unzip.
Ok, I don’t think I need to assist it in any way. I don’t think I should either cause others are hatching too. Just a little scary to see blood stream on the ground.
It doesn’t seem like there is any new blood and I think I can see where the chick was bleeding from. It looks weak and tired but it’s still moving around. I’m not sure if it’s from blood loss or it’s just tired from hatching.
No it wasn’t attached to the egg, there was a little red spot on the back of it by it’s behind. I saw some clear red liquid leak onto a fragment but it’s was then fine. I left for awhile and saw that. I removed the egg shell after making sure it wasn’t connected.
The chick hatched fine but then I came back to see that the cardboard under all the other eggs was bloody. The chick is chirping and moving around. I’m not sure if a egg fragment cut it or something.
Hey everyone thank you for helping my 12 year old self 🙄. I named that chick Rocky and sadly she has passed away, she was 6 years old. Thank you everyone.
I went outside to fine her vent stinking out and it looks a little bloody and I watched a video on what to do and it said to soak her in a bath and clean it off and gentaly push it in with a cloth and then once it’s in you insert your finger into her vent. The chicken in the videos didn’t look...
Will it matter if I washed them or not? People say that that isn’t good but I had rly no choice, egg was crusted on them and then when I took them out she pooped all over 2
Today I come to find that 1 of my eggs under my broody hen has broken and the other eggs has crusted egg on them all. There were also two eggs that were like that but were not under her and it was a cold day. I decided to wash all the eggs off with relatively warm water but still had some left...
