Can I add 2 week old chicks to a broody hen?

So it’s night time and I added 9 chicks to a broody hen. She’s has been broody for about a week now. I put them under her and they went under her. I think it was just because it’s warm though. She flattened out to accommodate them all. I’m wondering if she would attack them or if they would even...

    Blood After Chick Hatching

Ok, yea I never saw a string. When I removed the egg shell nothing was connected that I could see. The reason for removing the egg shell was that it closed around another egg that was pipped.

    Blood After Chick Hatching

Yes I saw a white almost glob of stuff in the egg shell. It might’ve hatched a little early like you said although it is day 21. The others have just pipped with one taking it’s time to unzip.

    Blood After Chick Hatching

Ok, I don’t think I need to assist it in any way. I don’t think I should either cause others are hatching too. Just a little scary to see blood stream on the ground.

    Blood After Chick Hatching

It doesn’t seem like there is any new blood and I think I can see where the chick was bleeding from. It looks weak and tired but it’s still moving around. I’m not sure if it’s from blood loss or it’s just tired from hatching.

    Blood After Chick Hatching

No it wasn’t attached to the egg, there was a little red spot on the back of it by it’s behind. I saw some clear red liquid leak onto a fragment but it’s was then fine. I left for awhile and saw that. I removed the egg shell after making sure it wasn’t connected.

    Blood After Chick Hatching

The chick hatched fine but then I came back to see that the cardboard under all the other eggs was bloody. The chick is chirping and moving around. I’m not sure if a egg fragment cut it or something.
